Good to know
The short version of everything in the welcome book. Anything else, text 906-224-2100.
When can I check in and out?
Check-in is from 4 pm and check-out is 11 am. Late check-out is often possible; ask the day before and we'll let you know.
How do I get in?
Every place has keyless entry. Your personal door code and the full address arrive about 48 hours before check-in through our guest portal.
Is there a deposit?
A $500 refundable hold goes on your card at check-in, or you can choose a $49 damage protection policy instead. You pick during online check-in.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, at most of our places, with prior approval. It's $50 per pet per stay. Add your pets to the guest count when you book so the fee applies automatically. Keep pets off furniture, leashed outside, crated if you leave them alone, and clean up after them.
What's the cancellation policy?
Cancel 14 or more days before check-in for a full refund. Cancel 7 to 13 days before and you get 50% back. Inside 7 days there's no refund, but we'll move your dates once for free within the next 12 months, or credit you for any nights we rebook. Holiday and peak ski weeks (Christmas through New Year's, MLK weekend, Presidents' Day, spring break) need 30 days for a full refund. That's better than our Airbnb policy on every line.
Do you provide linens and towels?
Yes. Beds are made, towels are out, and the bathroom has shampoo, soap and the basics. If you run short on a longer stay, text us.
Is there WiFi?
Free WiFi everywhere. The network is YOURNORTH and the password is BOOKDIRECT. Most places are on Spectrum; Powderhorn Hideaway and Timber Haus run Starlink. It's the northwoods, so the occasional hiccup happens.
Is firewood included?
Yes, wherever there's a fireplace or fire pit.
Where do we park, and can we bring a trailer?
Village on Aurora: guest spaces behind the building. The spots under the owl mural are reserved for the arts center. No trailer parking downtown; text us and we'll find you a spot nearby.
Lupindorf Village: the gravel lot in front of the building. Keep the dumpster clear. Sled trailers fit along the edge of the lot.
Alpen Villas: in front of your villa, extra vehicles and trailers at the west end of the lot. Don't block the dumpster.
Timber Haus: the paved driveway only. Don't block the dumpster. Room for a trailer; tell us the size.
Creekside Chalet: the paved driveway.
Powderhorn Hideaway: the gravel area by the road, plus the spot near the sauna shed. Don't block the dumpster or the garage.
Are the Alpen Villa hot tubs private?
Each hot tub sits on a lower deck shared by one pair of villas (1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8). Book both villas in a pair and the tub is all yours.
House rules?
Only the guests on the booking. No smoking inside. No parties or events. Quiet hours start at 10 pm. Boots off in the entry. If something breaks, tell us, we'd rather fix it than find it.
Where are you?
Ironwood is in the far western corner of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, on the Wisconsin line. About 2 hours from Duluth, 4 from Minneapolis, 5 from Milwaukee, 6 from Chicago. The Gogebic-Iron County Airport is 5 minutes from Powderhorn.
